Multicultural business and workforce forum at NSW Parliament House

The President attended a forum at NSW Parliament House on advancing the contribution of multicultural business and workforce.

The President of the Pak-Aus Engineers Association attended a forum on advancing the contribution of multicultural business and workforce, held at NSW Parliament House. The keynote address was delivered by a NSW Government minister, and various members of Parliament, other ministers, the Deputy Lord Mayor of Parramatta, heads of community and industry organisations, and small business owners participated. From the PAE team, our Finance Secretary, Mr Shujat Syed, also attended. PAE President Mr Insaf Khan highlighted the issues faced by the multicultural engineering community in entering the engineering industry.

It was a pleasure to meet Elfa Moraitakis, CEO of Sydney West Multicultural Services, and Dr Karen Dunwoodie, Director at Deakin University, and to discuss the issue of professionals not getting jobs in their rightful field at the right salary.

Deputy Lord Mayor (Epping Ward) Mr Charles Chen also discussed various issues and ways of cooperation between PAE and multicultural communities. The forum was very well organised.
